David Phelps, DDS

Dr. David Phelps graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. He completed his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Tennessee at Memphis. Dr. Phelps earned a Fellowship award from the Academy of General Dentistry, indicating his commitment to lifelong learning and to participating in continuing education courses to stay current in the latest dental technology and techniques. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Tri-County Dental Society, and is a member of the Hollenback / Medina Tucker Study Club.

Having lived in the Upstate as a child, his love for the area and desire to be close to family is the reason he now calls the foothills home. Dr. Phelps is married to Sarah, and has twin daughters Allison and Avery. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities such as backpacking, camping, and all types of biking as well as serving in different ways in the church.

Amanda, CDA

Amanda received her degree in dental assisting in 2015. She is the newest member of our team and a welcome addition. Amanda and her husband David have three boys (Mathew, Andrew, and Nicholas) who quote - “grew up way too fast.” She enjoys spending time with her family, camping, hunting, fishing, and swimming.
Amy, CDA

Amy is one of our chairside dental assistants. She received her degree in Dental Assisting from the Air Force, and has been with Southern Oaks Family Dentistry since 2015. Amy lives in Easley with her husband Dan, and children Garrett, Noah, and Hannah. In her spare time she enjoys running and spending time with her family.
Kathy, CDA

Kathy has been with Southern Oaks since 2006. She and her husband, Tom, enjoy camping, boating and hiking. Kathy loves to sing with the praise team at her church, and of course she loves spending time with her sons and grandchildren Wyatt, Emery, and Collins.
Julie, RDH

Julie is a registered dental hygienist. She received her degree from Greenville Tech in 2004. Having been with Southern Oaks Family Dentistry since 2006, she is a favorite with our patients. She resides in Greenville with her husband Corey and their three children, Kaiden, Avery, and Ben. Julie enjoys exercising, water skiing, and spending time with her family and friends.
Melissa, RDH

Melissa is is a registered dental hygienist and has been with our practice since 2009. She graduated from Greenville Tech in 2005. You will probably hear her around the office as she is known for her singing throughout the day. She resides in Anderson with her husband, Doug, and three boys Will, John-Michael, and Cade. When she is not at work she enjoys spending time with her family and attending their many sporting events.
Melissa, RDH

Melissa is a registered dental hygienist who has been with our practice since 2006. She graduated from Greenville Tech in 1992. Melissa is known for her professionalism and caring personality, providing our patients with the benefit of her many years of experience. She lives in Marietta with her husband Scott and their cocker spaniel. She enjoys motorcycling, traveling, camping and spending time with her family and friends.
Teresa, Office Manager

Our office manager, Teresa has been an integral part of Southern Oaks Family Dentistry since 2001. You are likely to hear her friendly voice when you call our office to make an appointment. Teresa resides in Piedmont with her husband, Don. She has two sons Jon and Ben, and a daughter Katie. Teresa enjoys singing in the choir at her church, scrapbooking, reading, and playing with her grandchildren Coleman, Hayes, Emerson, Parker, and Mac.
